Demba Ba and new signing Papiss Demba Cisse are due back at Newcastle United next week.
The Daily Mail says the Senegal pair suffered a shock defeat to Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday night in the Africa Cup of Nations - their second in a row after losing to Zambia - and crashed out of the tournament.
But it is good news for Newcastle boss Alan Pardew who will hope the pair will return sooner than expected after their final group game with Libya on Sunday.
